This centre deals with research in human and medical genetics. It aims to raise the ability, strategy and consultation for human genome explorations, extending the importance and advancement of science and technology in the era of human genomics.
From a rapidly expanding infrastructure to support a steady growth of research and innovation in recent years at USM, both Fundamental and Clinical Neuroscience laboratories at the Department of Neurosciences continue to facilitate key niche areas of our researchers whilst creating links for collaborations with others in the field of Neurosciences. The unique setting rivals only by few similar in Malaysia.
Public Health Laboratory
This is a dedicated laboratory catering for public health research and aspires to be the centre of excellence in research and innovation in the field of public health and community medicine.
This unit engages in services involving biological tissues for transplantation and conducts biomaterial research and development.
Medical Laboratories
Our medical laboratories consist of Haematology, Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology laboratories. Clinical diagnostic and research move parallel to meet the needs of the community and researchers.
This is a unit to aid research in study design and statistical analysis.
